The Yale Commercial family of cylindrical bored locksets has long been considered best-in-class throughout

the door hardware industry. Yale

continues to lead the market with its proven, innovative, patented designs.

Not content to rest on its past successes, Yale strives for continuous improvement of its products to meet and

exceed the needs of its customers. As a result, over the past 5 years Yale has methodically integrated the

following improvements into the 5300LN & 5400LN lockset series:

• Set-screw handles have been replaced with a fast-installing snap-on design, allowing quick and easy

installation in as little as 60 seconds from the box!

• Pressure cast, porous levers have been replaced with vacuum-cast, solid levers.

• All lever designs will now accept Corbin Russwin, Sargent

, Schlage

and small format interchangeable

cores and Corbin Russwin and Schlage

key-in-lever cylinders.

• Significantly improved lever springs prevent against lever sag or breakage and increase durability (up to 4

times BHMA standards).

• Stamped retractor has been replaced with a significantly stiffer and stronger solid retractor.

• Brass latchbolts have been replaced with stainless steel latchbolts.

• Threaded roses have been replaced with Yale's patented quick-adjustment design. (5400LN)

• PVD LIFETIME finish is STANDARD on all 605 and 606 orders.

• Five new finishes have been introduced: 609, 616, 619, 620 and an all-new LIFETIME 613e PVD that

offers a better match to anodized aluminum storefronts, with a finish that won't wear and at the same

price as 626.

• Through-bolts are threadlocked to prevent loosening of the lockset over time.

• Through-hardened steel stop plate (5400LN) for superior abusive torque performance coupled with patented

free-wheeling levers for maximum vandal resistance.

• Both Grade 1 and Grade 2 products are Windstorm Certified (refer to local codes).

• Installation instructions have been completely revised with easy to understand, step-by-step pictorials and

now include a handy trouble-shooting section.

Standard Warranties Extended

As a further vote of confidence in the superior performance of its products, Yale is increasing the standard

warranties on both the 5300LN and 5400LN cylindrical lockset products. The 5300LN standard warranty

has been increased to 5 years and the 5400LN to 7 years. In addition, these products carry a LIFETIME

warranty on PVD finishes, a LIFETIME warranty against lever sag and a LIFETIME warranty against lever spring

breakage.

New Packaging

In celebration of these changes, Yale will introduce a new, colorful box, detailing product improvements and

providing information about the new, enhanced warranty.

The new packaging has also been redesigned for the fastest possible

installation. Both the 5300LN and 5400LN will share this new box.

As a result, you will no longer be required to remove the through-

bolts from the lockset before installing the 5400LN on the door.

Yale began shipping the new box on orders in December 2005.
